Itinerary

Meinmahla Kyun (Meinmahla Island) is an island surrounded by mangrove forests in Myanmar’s southern Ayeyarwady delta. Here are opportunities to see the critically endangered saltwater crocodiles, long-tailed macaques, the Ayeyarwady dolphin and over 100 species of birds. The island is famous for its crocodiles and for being the only place in the delta where we will see these breeding crocodiles.

One of the highlights of a visit to this area is the night safari to see the crocodiles. Another highlight is the fishing villages around Meinmahla Island. Residents here have many stories about the crocodiles and how”U Shin Gyee”(the spirit) protects the fishermen.
